Larry Asante

From Compton, California, Asante earned all-league honors as a running back. After spending a year at Community College, Asante joined the University of Nebraska, where he developed into a force of nature on the defensive side of the ball.

Asante found his calling as a Safety for the Corn Huskers, getting better each year. During his senior campaign, he recorded 79 tackles, including 42 solo stops, forced 2 fumbles and recorded 2 interceptions, for the nation’s #1 defense  in pass efficiency. He was selected to the 1st-team All-Big 12 Conference.

Asante was drafted in the 5th round of the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns, and also has stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Indianapolis Colts, and Oakland Raiders, where he appeared in 6 games down the stretch and played 170 snaps.

In 2018, Asante will bring his veteran leadership and explosive playmaking abilities to The Spring League, looking to prove he still has plenty of quality football left.
