Week three of The Spring League kicked off with a dominant performance by the North Division’s Conquerors in their game against the Aviators.
Vinny Papale of the Conquerors had a big catch in the first quarter to bring his team into the red zone but the Red and Gold could not convert this drive into points.
On the next drive Conquerors’ Khristian Tate had a sack resulting in a loss of 2 yards for the Aviators and forcing them to punt.
On the next Conquerors drive, QB Kevin Anderson connected with Tavvon Salter for a 50+ yard gain. A solid run by Sola Olateju brought the Conq’s inside the ten, then Anderson and Papale connected again, this time for points. After the made PAT by Cole Murphy the Conquerors were up 7-0.
The Aviators punted on their next drive, and return-man Micheal Bandy brought it back across the fifty, well into Aviators territory. Bandy was then targeted by Anderson to put the Conquerors into the red zone.
The Aviators Tere Calloway forced a goal-line fumble, but Conquerors LB Beau Griego picked off Aviators QB Keller Chryst the very next play. A handoff from Anderson and Olateju on 4th & goal crossed the goal line, Murphy made the PAT and the Conq’s were up 14-0.
The Conquerors punted on their next drive, but the Aviators return-man touched the ball after its first bounce. Seeing the live ball, Conquerors WR Tavion Jacobs recovered the ball in the endzone, resulting in another Conquerors touchdown, 21-0.
Aviator QB Seth Suida made a fantastic move in the backfield on the next drive. He connected with Charles Johnson II who caught the ball for the first down, collapsed on the ground then, realizing he was not yet touched, got up and added another 10 yards on the play. Thanks to a Conquerors defensive penalty the Aviators’ RB Leroy Wilson punched it into the endzone. He recorded the only Aviators TD on the night. 21-7.
On the next Conquerors series, Jordan Salima off of two receptions and a run of about 25 yards, brought his team well into the red zone. Bandy brought one down from QB Brandon Silvers, and the Conquerors strengthened their lead to 27-7.
On the returning Aviators drive Defensive Tackle Willie Yarabay had a huge sack. The loss of yardage from that play eventually forced the Aviators to punt.
The Conquerors made a hefty move downfield thanks to a pass interference call on the Aviators, and Olateju brought the ball inside of the 5. Luke Sellers caught the final touchdown of the game. Final score 34-7 Conquerors.
