The Fifth Week of The Spring League kicked off with a clash between the Conquerors and the Alphas.
The Conquerors Defense had a big sack on Alphas QB Ryan Willis early in the first to force a punt and give Ryan Silvers and the Conqueror’s offense the ball back. Silvers connected with WR Cole Speiker to bring the Conquerors into the red zone, where RB Jordan Salima punched the ball into the endzone on a 1-yard carry. After the successful PAT by Micheal Carrizosa, the score was 7-0 Conquerors.
After another punt by the Alphas, Silvers and the Conq’s offense were on the move again. Silvers and Dushon David connected to bring the ball across the 50. After a few more plays Silvers connected with Tavvon Statler for a wide-open 27-yard pass for a touchdown making the score 14-0 after Carrizosa’s PAT.
On the next Alphas punt, Conqueror’s LB Zach Richardson broke through the line and got tipped the ball, which was then recovered by Basil Jackson for a touchdown, and after Carrizosa’s PAT, the score was 21-0.
To start off the second half, Nathan Hierlihy scored the first Alphas points of the game off of a field goal, to make the score 21-3.
On the returning kickoff for the Conquerors, Tavion Jacobs had a huge return, but Alpha Shamar Busby forced the fumble on the tackle and the ball was recovered by the Alphas. The A’s did not manage to get anything going and had to punt it back to the Conquerors, where they managed to score a FG off of Hierlihy. 24-10 Conquerors.
On the Alphas returning drive, QB Brady White connected with Ka’Ronce Higgins for their first touchdown of the day, making the score 21-10 with 3:42 left in the game.
